Murlough Nature Reserve is about 30miles, a 54min. drive from Banbridge
(Map with directions)
Ireland’s first nature reserve features thousands of acres of ancient sand dunes
and harbours a stunning diversity of plant and animal life. It is owned by the National Trust and managed as Ireland’s first Nature
Reserve since 1967. It is an excellent area for walking and bird
watching due to its spectacular location at the edge of Dundrum Bay and
the Mourne Mountains.
We began our walk on Saturday morning at 11:10.
Along the Board is interesting inofrmation about Sand Dunes and its inhabitants.
We decided to take the path down to the Beach.
My daughter could not resist climbing up, she got really scared coming down .......
Horses doing their paces. Jeandre had fun trying to run in their tracks.
Not something you want to see, but you cannot escape the cycle of life.
We no the only ones out on this Winter Day
By now we were tired and hungry so it was time to get back to the board walk.

We had lunch and then got a bit lost. At least we had a great view of the country side.
At last we made it back after about 7km the last bush before the car park had this beautiful Robin sitting in it, as it was saying Good Bye. :)
